BLACK SABBATH
On the evening of 6 October, we danced, celebrating the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles…
On the morning of 7 October we witnessed in horror and unbelief the massacre happening in the South of Israel which catapulted us into the present reality of war.
“Never again!” they said.
It happened again.
God have mercy!
Fear, panic and hopelessness was suddenly the order of the day. The nation was reeling from pain. Feeling vulnerable while images of captured Israelis being paraded through the streets of Gaza city, cheered on by people, jam-packed, lining the streets, celebrating their heroes and their victory.
Young people, old people, children and babies. Raped, beaten, burned alive, beheaded and dismembered – unimaginable brutality. Pure evil unmasked.
Social media was flooded with images of friends and family members who were unaccounted for. As the rescue and clean-up crew were able to enter the affected villages, more and more horror stories were uncovered.
The country is in shock and deep mourning.
Immediately war was declared and our sons and daughters had to go and take up their positions all over the country.
As divided as they were the day before, the nation came together as one. It is a privilege to experience that.
For the first time in history of any country, more people came into a war zone than fled.
Reservists flew in from all over the world. Many of them attending funerals of friends and family before reporting for duty.
There was not nearly enough equipment, food etc. for 300 000 people. But God…!
Everybody who is not in uniform, is doing whatever they can to help. People are volunteering with the army, packing and distributing, others are networking to get the necessary equipment to our soldiers, others are cooking for the soldiers.
People in the center of the country are opening their homes for evacuated families from the border villages – both North and South.
The country is being flooded with help from abroad with funds, equipment, clothing for soldiers, gear etc.
For the first time ever, 3000 Haredi Jews volunteered for the army.
And then there are you, our precious brothers and sisters in Christ! You are an incredible support for us and for Israel! Thank you for all your prayer and support – spiritually and financially!
Many of you have expressed that you wish you could do more. I want to assure you, that you have a calling and a task in this war that is the most important, the most effective and the most helpful- more than anything else.
As believers in Yeshua, have access to the throne room of God!
This is how we fight.
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.” – Hebrews 5:7
